Bought one of these four days ago, it has now decided to stay in recovery mode, as I'm in work I can't do anything like reload firmware etc. I think this is a bit much to be honest, I mean, its four days old and considering it took so long to upload the part of my collection (about 8 gigs of 30+ gigs) thats on it already it makes it even more annoying.
Has anyone had this kind of hassle from their player so soon after they got it? Is there anything anyone knows that I can do to sort it?

Have you tried a reset with a paper clip?
    (just checking)

Just tried that there, comes up with the same thing. Thanks for the suggestion though.

When I click the Format All option on the recovery screen it comes up with "Harddisk Problem". So it doesn't look good.
I'm sure (and I hope) this isn't the norm for this particular player but it's annoying cause now I have to listen to the beautiful sounds of the DART on the way home!

It's not what I'd call a common problem.

See how you get on when you get home and can try a firmware
upgrade. If it doesnt work, contact Creative and they should replace
if under warranty without any problems.

Yeah, I'll do that. I know a few people with the same player and they swear by them so I guess its just one of those things.
    Thanks again Gran Hermano.

Just in case anyone has the same problem:
I never got round to getting onto Creative, but, after trying to update the firmware and getting the same message "Hard Drive Problem", the player then froze on this screen. Eventually the battery wasted and it switched itself off. Just for the hell of it I tried plugging it back into the mains and would you believe it, it started working fine again. Strange, after seeing that message I thought it was good night for the thing, but haven't had any problems with it since.

Thanks, but, as I said above it's working a treat now. Thanks for the link though, if I have any more problems with it (hopefully not) it will come in handy.
