    Hi,

I've never had much cause to use a lot of flash in photography, but would like some ideas/options.

I have a Speedlite 580-EX. It's brilliant any time that I have used it (indoors, weddings etc). I was thinking of getting an off-camera flash, but then thought that it might be easier to just buy the ST-E2.

Has anyone used the ST-E2, especially together with 2 flash? Is it useful?

    Thanks.

Just re-read that - I used similar to that - for firing the flash units in dubstudios- thinking about it they may not have been canon brand.

The one I used ate batteries but was worth it - once you work without dragging the cable around its hard to go back to being cabled.

These are cheap and cheerful, alot of people use these as they are a cheaper alternative than the pocket wizards and they work well for the price.

I used the ebay off shoe wireless flash trigger for the first second time today. I was in dolymount with my niece and took this shot with a 550ex to the right handheld. I did'nt have one misfire with them and they only cost 26euro inclunding shipping, best few quid I have spent.

Curse your hide Digitalage, just when I thought my impulsive spending days were over you come along with more gadgets.
One on the way as we speak. Can you remember how long it took for delivery?

Cool and the gang, I have the off camera cord II which is great, but a little limiting in terms of reach.
    Cheers for that!

    That's brilliant shot!

I would like to buy one Cactus-4 too, however I am not willing to pay more for transport than is it's price.

If you know somebody who is going to order it, let me know, I would like to share cost of transport :-)

I presume they don't do proper TTL operation though, do they ? Its just a trigger like pc cable ? Incidentally that shot is great. Fantastic use of fill.

DaireQuilan you lose the TTL, its just a trigger like the pc cable except its wireless. The problem I encountered when using 550ex (one as master and 2 as slaves) is that I would get alot of misfires if the flashes had'nt got a line of sight with each other. I don't get that problem with the ebay triggers though.

Too late Th0nda! And it is $10 transport...so it's not more than the $25.
