    Hey all,

Currently in Thailand and will be visiting Bangkok, Shanghai and Beijing (and Dubai) over the next few weeks and hope to pick up some of the excellent clothing and perhaps DVD knockoffs in the local street markets - which city should be best value for various items? Will DVDs purchased here work at home?

    Thanks :)

I've been to both - think DVD's were cheaper in China but you have to be careful that they contain the english audio. Most places will let you check before buying.

Thailand in general was cheaper for touristy stuff, Beijing has some great markets 'the Silk Market' in particular, but the prices will be higher. Make sure you bargain, bargain, bargain!

I found the golden temple shopping centre, Sham Shui Po to be good in Hong Kong. Took a trip down Kho Sahn Road in Bangkok back in Feb and there wasn't a DVD to be seen.
