Surely this should be in the Self Defence & Martial Arts forum?

I did TKD for just over 7 years and loved it, so obviously it would be my favorite. Most martial artists i know only ever did the one that they were practicing and when it came to talk about which one was the best with other people doing other styles, the conversation would get pretty heated.

I would like to have given kick boxing a go but didn't bother in the end. Never fancied Karate though.

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) used to love it. Quit it though, too many injuries

Can't believe it's not in the poll :(. It's one of the toughest and most phisical Arts IMO. Don't know how that statement would be recieved in the Self Defence & Martial Arts forum.

A martial art is only as good as what you need it for. One on one or ground fighting, Judo is your man, but I wouldn't want to take on multiple opponents using it. I'd be much happier using Arnis for crowd control, assuming I had a stick or two handy. Theres a lot of overlap between the styles too, so really just choose the appropriate tool for the job.

I've done, Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo, Shotokan & Kickboxing.

None of them were the best, although the best teacher I ever had was a bloke Called Brendan who runs a shotokan class up Ballyroan community centre. I've fought many people using different styles and really it's more about your ability to improvise in a situation then anything else.

I've given up all that now but i'd be willing to try Muay Thai for fitness but I don't think there are any places around. My days of competitiveness are over.

There's a guy called Nick runs/ran a club in Dublin, fought one of his lads. You'd get some club address's over in the Martial Arts forum.
