Disk error - need help

    When I run Apples disk utility it tells me there is an error on the hard disk...cant remember the details as im not on teh mac at the mo....

    Question is.... why doesnt the utility allow me to repair the disk? The repair buttin is greyed out and unclickable.... ???

    Appreciate your help guys... because of this error Boot camp wont partition the hard disk so I can install windows...

    Because it's your start-up disk. You'll have to boot from your OSX Install cd and repair it using Disk Utility there. Just slot in the cd, restart, and hold down the C key as your mac starts up. Then select Disk Utility from the utilities menu.

    It's probably just a minor error with the volume header. I had a whole bunch of these recently.
