For the Munster folk amongst you, Kinsale Art Week kicks off this weekend with Fireworks at 10.30pm on Saturday.
I added it, and a few of the other events, to the boards.ie calendar (thanks elven)

gmail is the only email account to deal with tbh.. I've got all my other email accounts for different domains pointing towards my gmail. POP email is dead and gone. Invite sent, enjoy :)

I'll be in Turners Cross for the Cork City v Hammarby, UEFA Intertoto Cup game, so I could easily get down to Kinsale for this.

Any advice on how to shoot fireworks?

what I did before was iso 100, f10 and take 4 second exposures. Seemed to work well the first time I did it, not so well the second. I'm putting the failure the second time down to being rushed while setting up.

I'm wondering if Charlesfort will be a good place to get the fireworks. I presume the fireworks platform will be out in the water somewhere, hopefully far enough out so that the whole of the bay gets a good show.

    was thinking the same,
Thought they could be setting them off from james's fort as it's more visible from town or if they are setting them off from charles fort that might be the the place to be....
The opening and one of the concerts are in the fort that night (Frank and Walters) so it might tie in...

oh balls.. charlesfort will be jammers so. Guess it's time to look for another vantage point

they will be set off from james fort, across the water from charles fort...

Out at Scilly is the place to be.
You can look back towards the harbour then.

Fireworks tonight were nice, started a bit late to allow the sky to darken but went well (despite a false start?)

Cheers again for the heads up on the event, was nice to get back out and photograph some fireworks.

Second one is stunning!!! Sounds like twas a great night. was chatting to some lads staying down in the fort for the night, they seemed to be having fun!!

Nice work Ryan. Nice to see you posting some stuff too, its rare that you treat us to your good work without having to seek it out on Flickr.

    Great shots, Rymus.
I'm really sorry I missed this. Was just too tired after the drive down from Dublin, watching the Hurling, then up to Turners Cross.

Went for lunch in Clon, on Sunday and discovered that they had a music festival, with some great photo opportunities, but we hadn't taken my car, so I didn't have my gear with me. :(
