Guys I need help with my work computer I’m trying to hook my psp up to it and it comes up saying that it recognises the device then it just disappears when I go to my computer it isn’t there but in the bottom left corner still gives me the option of safely removing device, have tried troubleshooting and there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong can someone please help.

have you got a work drive on e: already?
right click on my computer and go to manage.
it might appear under storage, if so give it a different
    letter.

well it will let you asign a drive letter there so it will appear in my computer normally. but that'll just let you use it as storage I guess. I'm not familiar at all with what you should be able to do with it when hooked up to PC, sorry!

it should also come up under disk management, go in there right click on it and it should give you the change drive letter options. (i think)

It shows up under disk managment but i cant change any letters infact in shows up under device manager but again there is no letter to change and i don't know how to find the device so i can use it on my computer there is no problem using it on other computers so it's not a dodgey cable. I need to get it too show up on my computer then im laughing :)

if is shows up under disk management, does right clicking on the shaded area not give you the option to change drive letters? if not you may have restricted permissions but I wouldn't have thought so since you can get in to the manage options..

Ive seen this , and the same problem happens with ipods too , the USB slot its in needs to be a high power USB slot , ( yes , there are high powered and low powered USB slots ).

This is because the PSP and the Ipod rely on power from the USB slot when connected to a computer , if its a low power USB slot the device behaves erratically. Try connecting to a different USB slot , and see what happens , if you are connecting through a front USB try connecting to one of the slots on the back of the machine.
