Turkish Visa?

I'm off to Turkey on Thursday week. It's been a while since i checked anything about it but I remember the Turkish website saying I needed a visa to enter the country. I also remember reading something about just being able to pay €10 when you enter the country and that's that.

So do I need to go and get myself a visa or will I just be able to turn up?

You will be able to get a visa when you arrive at the airport, usually at a desk close to passport control

Yep... that's right you do it at the airport.

It's cheaper for Irish citizens than UK citizens for some reason if memory serves me correctly... so have fun with that.

It's just a holiday visa though... but when I was in Istanbul it was for meetings... but I just kept my mouth shut...

I was there 3 years ago and it was €10, which you pay when you get off the airplane and before you get into the main arrivals area of the airport.

I think it was £20 for UK citizens and $100 for US citizens :)

Once you get off the plane you get into a big queue. Have a tenner at the ready.
It's very simple. No paperwork, you just hand over the money and get a stamp.
