Prada LG & Vodafone

    Can someone please help me?
    I just got the Prada LG mobile (sim free) mobile as a present. I have a vodafone pay as you go simcard. Everything works on the phone except for the email.
    I have put my pop3 settings on it and it just says "DNS error" can someone tell me what I have to do?
    I also have a german simcard and the email works fine with that.
    Are there any special settings I need to put in for it to work with vodafone???

    Does the phone let you manually specify a DNS server? I ask because perhaps it isn't getting DNS servers from Vodafone. You could try using 194.145.128.1 and see if that works. If it is indeed a problem with the DNS server, that should fix it.

    yes, in your email client, DNS is probably not enabled, so you will need to specify all address as IP addresses.

    Sorry I am really crap with these things.
    there are 3 Profile options in the email

    vodafone live!
    vodafone csd
    vodafone mms

    i cant seem to change the settings in them.
    i can change the settings of vodafone mms when going to multemedia msgs, or i can put in a new profile.
    These are the things it asks for:

    PROFILE NAME
    vodafone MMS

    MMSC
    http://www.vodafone.ie/mms

    INTERNET MODE
    wap or http

    PROXY IP
    194.145.128.100 (i put this one in)

    PROXY PORT
    80

    CONNECTION
    Vodafone MMS or Vodafone Live! or Vodafone CSD

    can you let me know what to put in each one?
    would really really appreciate any help.

    You need to set up a 4th set of settings for internet

    Data Bearer: GPRS
    Access Point Name: isp.vodafone.ie
    User Name: vodafone
    Password: vodafone
    Authentication: Normal
    Gateway IP Address: 0.0.0.0
    If you can put in DNS settings when setting up, enter 213.233.128.1

    sorry to be a pain in the ass again.:mad: it now stopped working.
    the email does work from my eircom.net account.
    however, from my own domain, it says DNS error.
    any idea why that is and why it would stop working after a few times? I hadn't changed any of the settings.
