Seems like a good day out and in a good cause too. Thanks for letting us know. :)

The smell of dog sh1te should be a bit off putting though.

And just so people know that the DSPCA are offering microchipping for €5.00 that is less then a packet of 20 cigerattes so no excuse for people not to get their dogs chipped.

Its going to be a great day we are going to bring our 2 dogs who just adore meeting other dogs.

I would also make sure people who are bringing dogs who are on the restricted breed to have a muzzle with them as no doubt they will be asked to have the dogs wear them

I'd love to go but Esri - now 5 months old - is only being trained so far on a halti and as she is on the restricted list, I don't think that'll cover her. Also, she gets motion sickness and needs a tablet to help her (ACP) and she sleeps as a result. Is there an age limit for the muzzle? Or is it complusory not matter what age? Thanks for any info in advance.;)

Hmm... I'm not sure if Ireland is ready for a big 'dogs day out' like this. Really not sure.
It'll be interesting to see how it goes...

I think they should organise some smaller ones all around the country. I think my pup would probably freak out if there are loads of people and dogs all around her and trying to come up to her. I do want to socialise her but don't think she is ready for that big an event yet.

Not if the owners do their buisness and clean it up it wont. :D
Of which I'm sure they will. :)

That's a great idea, a few smaller ones would suit people better, it's not feasible for some people to bring their dogs all the way to Dublin for it.

There are smaller dog events held around the country.

Animal Foundation in Kildare had one Sunday week ago (we came home with 3 rosettes) and Last Hope Rescue had one in Navan Sunday week ago.

Check your local rescue centres and see if they are having one

The Waterford S.P.C.A is holding a sponsored walk in Tramore on the 8th July at 3pm. It's starting at Newtown Cove car park and going along the Cliff road and Doneraile. All welcome including four legged variety. Also refreshments available. I'll try go but can't bring my pup as she is too young for such a long walk.
Thats all I know of. Anyone got timetables for local dog shows per chance? I'd like to bring her to one and walk her around.
    edit - fixed a misspelling!

There is one in Bray for ASH Animal Rescue on Saturday 14th July, and one for Dogs Aid on July 29th I think.
Also most Riding clubs/Gymkhanas seem to have annual dog shows as part of it.. Kilmacanogue horse show (July 21st I think) will have one.
