Gnáthnathanna cainte, le cur do le saibhreas ár gcuid Gaeilge. Ní seanfhocail atá i gceist.

Everyday idioms, to add to the richness of our Irish. We are not talking about proverbs though.

    - Rinne sé magairlí cránach (lit. sow's testicles) den obair = He screwed up/made a mess of the work.

    - Bhain siad an chloch dá muinchille = They buried the hatchet

    - Ciolar chiot a dhéanamh de dhuine = to beat the crap out of someone.

Tá go leor acu le fáil i bhfoclóir Uí Dhónaill, mar shampla. Aon samplaí eile agaibh?
