The End of "First Blood" on UKTV Gold

I had not seen this this film in a long while. Far from the typical style Shoot-em-up of its day (1982), Its probably the first film I saw of the real affect of war on a man. I was thoroughly engaged up until the highly emotional ending when Rambos old Boss confronts him in the Police staion. Rambo breaks down over the death of his friend by suicide bombing. I dug the script online :

ln one of these barns a kid came to us with a kind of shoe cleaning box.
    ''Shine?''
He kept on asking. Joe said yeah.
l went to get a couple of beers. The box was wired. He opened it...
There were body parts flying everywhere.
He lay there and screamed... l have all these pieces of him on me!
Just like that. l try to get him off me, my friend! l'm covered with him!
Blood everywhere and so... l try to hold him together,
But the entrails keep coming out!
    And nobody would help!
He just said: ''l want to go home!'' And called my name.
''l want to go home, Johnny! l want to drive my Chevy!
But l couldn't find his legs.

This was (and still is) the climax of the film. Bad point then you might imagine for the Continuity announcer to come over the airwaves to tell us the following :

"We are sending you you to prison Next on Uktv Gold but Dont but dont panic though. You might want to stay as Wentworth Miller is something of a dish. *Ahem* . Well apparantley."

And thats it! Unbeliveably, he has just talked over the last minute of the film. When he shuts up, Trautman is hugging Rambo. There are no more lines in the film!! I cant imagine how anyone could possibly f*ck up a film at the worst possible moment than what happend tonight. Absolutley disgusted. Talk about investing and wasting 2 hours of your life in an old gem only to have it ruined forever at the final hurdle.

For the record, this is was what was blotted out :

l can't get it out of my head. lt's seven years ago.
    l see it every day.
Sometimes l wake up and don't know where l am. l don't talk to anyone.
    Sometimes all day long.
    Sometimes a week.
l can't get it out of my head.

Talk about fcuking up a great film at the worst possible point. (I have recording if anyone cannot believe what they are reading)

"Nothing is over, Nothing! You just dont turn it off!".

I don't know how anyone could watch a movie on those channels.

I hate Sky Digital, period! It's a load of dollop that repeats itself. The last time I watched it was at Xmas and during that period the channel F/X showed Fight Club nearly every week!?! Jesus Christ!! Now, the only time I watch it is to watch Top Gear!

It's hardly Sky's fault that channels not owned by them repeat constantly.

Thats very annoying. Those channels do that a lot though.
Talking of repeats, watched South Park on MTV one day last week (I know, I know) and happened to flick to it again later that night and the same episode was on, about a half an hour after the other one ended???? It turns out they show the same two episodes multiple times during the week and to top it all off, show the same two episodes on the same night, broken up by the huge time frame of half an hour???? Shocking really. Sorry to go off topic by the way.

The UK Gold announcers are a witless bunch of cretins. If you want to see First Blood intact it turns up on TCM every so often I think.

    Mike.

That sort of ****e really pisses me off. Great film though, I just received the blu-ray version from amazon for €15, well worth it for a great movie.

The book is excellent too, has a totally different ending though
