Does anybody else find that the NTL remote (small remote for the small Pace boxes) only works when you are directly in front on the box or at an angle of no more than, say, 15 degrees from this?

On the otherhand... my TV remote works from the other side of the room, even when pointing in the opposite direction to the TV!

Yep, its poor like you say narrow angle while other remotes can bounce the beam off three walls and a mirror and still work perfectly.

Christ I've heard it all now. Why not get in touch with Pace and complain to them, they made the box and remote. I know you don't like NTL but surely there are better things in life to be concerned about rather then working angles of remote controls.

My girlfriend (while ironing )uses the remote from the other side of the room and at an angle from the tv and box and works perfect.

I'd say she is at least 15-18 feet away from the box.

Pace didn't supply the box to me - NTL did. It's just another reason why their service leaves a lot to be desired.

Oh well, I'm just counting the days now until it is cancelled for good...

There are two boxes - the silver box and the dark blue box. The remote for the silver box (which I'm sure you have) is fine. The remote for the blue box would break your heart.
