Now I don't know much about campervans, infact, I'll be honest, I know next to nothing about them. On the other I had, I have been a fan of porsche all my life. Now that I'm old enough so that insurance companies are nice to me and I have a few quid lying about, I have decided to buy myself a Porsche 944.

So I'm looking on carzone and I'm a little curious about this particular car....

    http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=680185

He says he doesn't know much about it, which is fair enough, since this guy sells motorhomes. He is selling the car under the following business.....

    MOD EDIT
Address and phone number removed, it's in the actual ad for anyone who needs to know

Without actually seeing the car and spending some time routing through the service history, I'm a little suspect. Don't ask me why, probably just because of the restore and the fact that the car looks so good for its age.

What has this got to do with camper vans you ask? Well, I was interested in the car and even more interested in the wheels (seeing as I'm buying a 944 as soon as I find one with a service history myself & my mechanic are happy with). So I txt the guy with....

'Hi, I'm in txting about the 944 lux for sale, how strict are you on the price and would consider selling the wheels and tyres without the car?'.

    to which he replied........

"U could not afford the spare wheel.stop deaming and buy yourself a nissan micra".

to which I replied something along the lines of........

'wow. really WOW. that's some way to treat a potential customer. I'll be sure to spread the word about FahyMotorHomes!'

to which he again replied with........

"Go ahead ass hole i am sure a lot of people would be guided by u".

So there you have it, customer service from a real pro! I just thought I'd spread the word incase anyone was considering doing business with this guy.

Sure he's right though, who would be guided by me, a lowly potential customer! ;)

I'm sure if I got a txt asking about the alloys only, I'd be thinking the txt was a pisstake..
I on the other hand woud have sold you the alloys... for €9,450 & some spare parts free.

I've spoken with Fahy motorhomes before & found him ok & was happy to give any advice. Although I didn't give him a twist as I purchased private!

I've never had dealings with Fahy motorhomes nor have I actually ever heard of them and I have to say I'm not particularly impressed with the wording of their reply.

On the other hand ...if I was in car sales and got a text like yours, I'd probably tell you to get lost as well ...just that bit more politely.

Next time you have a serious interest in buying something ...talk to the people ...as in: ring them !

Any tosser can text and I assume a lot of them do.

Thread locked, as I don't want to encourage further discussions about people / companies who are not there to give their side of the story
