thailand visas

Heading over to thailand at the end of july for a little over a month. I know i need to get a different visa not just the regular thirty day one as we'll be there longer. i've heard a few conflicting reports about where/when you have to get them? could anone clear it up? Thanks.

Irish Thai Consulate is where you need to apply to.

It took only about 10 days for mine to arrive a month ago but they recommend applying at least 3 weeks in advance.
