    Hey guys,

Anyone here play a Pro am before ? If so, have you any advice on what can be expected. A friend of mine is playing in one wednesday, lucky devil. A work colleague of mine played in the pro am for the irish open at adare and said it was amazing - pro was different gravy.

Anyone got experience of playing in a pro am ?

played in the european open pro am a few years ago. I got an invite from a supplier. it was a team event with the Pro playing off the Blues and 3 amateurs playing off the whites - it was on the smurfit course in K-club so I'd say its the same deal

You get announced onto the Tee and theres a few spectators there so you even get applause - interesting taking the first shot!

The team event we played was everyone drives - and you chose the best drive then everyone plays from there and finishes out with their own ball from there - not a typical scramble. the best stableford score goes on the card so handicaps are important.

Its a great experience - can you tie him up put him the boot and take his place? :)

That sounds like a superb day out - i've managed to get a day guest pass from him so I might head out. Although I might caddie for him, be great to hear the words from the pro.

The weather though is shocking at the moment.

they are great fun. I didnt play a pro am as such but played in a celebrity fund raiser event and was paired with Ronan Keating.

That was a great day out alot of famous footballers there and actors and musicians and was interesting playing alongside them and just chatting to them like normal people.
