A local landowner was hospitailised last week, his family say because of stress related illness caused by Garda intimidation over the last two weeks.

There have been seven arrests within the last month, and a number of protesters will appear in court on July 11th.

Shell, Statoil and Marathon will own all the rights to the fifty-billion euro worth of natural gas in the Corrib field. Meanwhile, the people of Ireland will own nothing.

A number of new routes for a high-pressure pipeline have recently been put forward by Shell. Many people expect further protests agaisnt these, the refinery scheme, the appalling deal, and the government's plans for other oil and gas reserves off the west coast (which may add up to over 400 billion euros worth).
