Big Blind Twice in a row... Ruling?

    Hi All,

Long time reader of the forum, first post so here goes...

Home Game – Down to last three.

    Player A: Small Blind
    Player B: Big Blind
    Player C: Button (Short Stack)

    Action:
Button goes all in, Small Blind Folds, Big Blind Calls and knocks out Button.

    Question:
What is the correct procedure for the next hand (Heads Up)?
Does Player A become the dealer (and small blind) with Player B on the Big Blind?

    Or…

Is player B on the button?

Rightly or wrongly, the decision was made to move the button on to Player A.
Player B took issue with being Big Blind twice in a row…

    Correct Ruling?

    Thanks, Mic.

ps Enjoy reading the forum - keep up the great work!

I would've thought player A would become the big blind and player B would be the small blind...

player A was sb in that hand which means he now becomes BB with player B on SB

    Thanks, Folks.

Jackyback, would this be the official ruling?

    Mic.

There is no official rule, only house rules. I personally prefer the easy "Button goes to the last player to pay the big blind". This means that sometimes someone will pay the small blind twice, but no one will ever pay the big blind twice.

If the TDA pulls any weight with you (which is followed by the WPT, EPT, WSOP, etc), this is how they do it: http://www.pokertda.com/rules.pdf, rule 35. Online, Full Tilt has implemented it this way, but PokerStars still uses a moving button.

As Oz said, depends on house rules.

I personally use Roberts rules of Poker which states that button must move to next person due to get the button.

In the e.g. giving above player B is indeed BB two hands in a row.
