Either it wingstalled (turning at too low a speed and inside wing goes down) or he told it to do that, in which case he lost orientation.

    Either way ... pilot error

    Hello there,
Looks like more a dynamic stall (déclenché in French.. sorry, don't know the English word for that...)

Easy to do... You have a good speed, turn with ailerons and give too much elevator, and that happen.
Same thing happen when you try to do some F3F runs without the proper machine. Or you have the good machine, but you put too much inputs at the elevator (I had som fright with my Destiny ! :D )

During the push of the elevator, the air don't stick to the wing, that why it is so violent, and during a turn, whatever the speed of the machine.

I think you're right Fred. (If not pilot error due to mis-orientation)

My CAP and Mustang were both capable of doing it if too much control was applied.
He did it on the turn which made it more dramatic too!
The aerobatic planes can do lovely snap rolls using that characteristic, but it bites you bad before you know how to induce it and get out of it. :)

Really unlucky for the guy, as this is really easy to recover (well, that is just a stall after all), but you need a bit of altitude.

Note that without ailerons input, you can have this figure 99% of the time during turns, as the air layer on the wing is already stretch to the limit (and less surface and so on of course..).
But tha is elapor, easy to fix ;)

    Yes.
The fact that elapor is superglue friendly foam is very handy.
Repair it in a couple of minutes and ready to go again! :)
