With all due respect, my local under 12 camogie team would hurl that Wexford team off the pitch.

Quite clearly 'marking' is a term alien to senior Wexford hurling. They are a few yards behind the Kilkenny lads all of the time.

Yeah, Waterford in the recent league final, Cork in the 2004 All-Ireland for example.

I know what you mean though, they are the Brazil of hurling. It's bad for the game though, this idea that KK are unbeatable.

I find it hard to disagree with you except for one small point. Wexford are absolutely useless.

Kilkenny are not nearly unbeatable. They have been beaten plenty of times over the last few years, and Cork and Waterford can very easily beat them over the coming months.

Personally I expect the all-Ireland to go to Munster this year.Neither Kilkenny or Cork are as strong as they were(a lot of blooding of new inexperienced guy), and if Waterford haven't peaked too early again the Deise may take Liam McCarthy. And Galway are always a wild card.

Easy shooting practice for Kilkenny today, the early goals killed Wexford who were terrible.
Game over as a contest within 20 minutes and wexford gave up completely.
    Shocking display by Wexford.
Stiffer tests lie ahead for Kilkenny when they meet old foes in later rounds, they wont get the time and space on the ball they got today but i still expect them to win the Liam Mccarthy,
There didnt seem to be much of an attendance in Croker today for a triple header , was there ?

Against what opposition??????????????? Sorry Wexford fans.

The Kilkenny senior hurlers won today. Their county board failed abysmally today. (See the Kilkenny Football thread).

Despite the poor Wexford team, Kilkenny are still a class apart. I really cannot see anyone stopping them, maybe Cork with a full team or Waterford on a good day.

Nobody would begrudge it to Waterford. Still a bit to go, but it could be their year. We are into July. This is when the Championships really start.

It was an awful game - talk about going through the motions!

The game was not over after 20 minutes....it was over after 8 or 9 minutes.Shocking display from Wexford but in hindsight did we not see this coming after Wexford were extremely lucky against Dublin?

Poor Cruiserweight, not a good day to be a Wexford fan losing yet another Wexford double in Croker. He is probably somewhere in Court-town or New Ross contemplating offing himself.

I was at the match and I thought there was 47,000 there but people were coming and going. The Wexford support was larger in my opinion but that is not shocking taking into account they were in two senior matches.

Yeah, KK looked brilliant yesterday but the standard of opposition was very, very poor. If dublin were playing yesterday at least they would have physically matched KK in the physical stakes (like what the Dubs did to Cork on Saturday).

Wexford are by far in a way going to be the weakest team in the quarter-finals and everyone will be hoping to draw them, although its only the group winners who can draw them AFAIK.

Which will probably serve up the fixture of Cork v Wexford and from judging Wexfords two last performances Cork v Wexford = No chance for Wexford.

As Meath footballers showed in the 2001 semi-final against Kerry it is easy to be superb when the opposition doesn't show up. Wexford have been detroyed by Clare in the quarter-final for the last two years and nobody raved about them. What is so different when Kilkenny do it?

Kilkenny lost to Waterford in the League Final and will have massive tasks when they take on Cork, Waterford, and possibly Galway in the championship.

I can't see any team matching KK at this stage. Cork have too many injuries and a depleted full back line and Waterford may be peaking too soon (always a problem for Munster teams.)
It will be interesting to see KK in the quater finals though and see how they perform against Galway (probably??).

Watch Shefflins skill before the second goal, brian hogans solo and point half way through the first half and shefflins point after missing that easy wide and theres your answer.

That certainly doesn't answer my question.

Wexford lost to Clare by 12 points in 2006, by 15 points in 2005, to Cork by 18 points in 2004 and in 2003 by 13 points. Wexford are simply no measure but we still have to listen to this every July when they are stuffed by Kilkenny.

Picking out little pieces of skill from a team well on top in a game proves nothing other than that some observers are easily impressed. I read in a newspaper that Kilkenny were "invincible" in 2005 when they hammered a hapless Offaly and they didn't win the All-Ireland.

Kilkenny, like Meath 2001, will be judged on days when the opposition is credible such as in the League Final which they lost.

Umm no.I've seen Tom Kenny and Ben O'Connor score goals and points better then Hogan's point in far tougher matches.Shefflin is incredible no doubt, but one man.

Kilkenny are beatable; a truly intensive running game has caused all sorts of problems for the cats in the past.

There is no reason to think that Cork won't have a full starting fifteen by the end of the qualifiers, nevermind if we meet Kilkenny.Kenny could be back for Offaly, and Murphy will be back on Saturday.O' Neill and Mac Carthy are supposed to be back after the qualifiers.Plus the likes of Shane Murphy, Cian O' Connor, Niall Ronin and Cathal Naughton(future star imo) are decent replacements to any injuries in the center forward and full back line.

The qualifiers and the injuries could be a blessing in disguise. We are blooding the young and inexperienced against quality teams like Tipp and Offaly. The management should have a better grasp of the first 15 and a stronger bench to pick from. You only have to look at the Keery football team last year to see my point.

    Clearly not, since Kilkenny won.
