Reducing File Size for DVD Burning

Not sure if i'm in the correct forum. I'm trying to burn an AVI file to dvd but the file is slightly too big for the disc(4.7GB) is there a program i can use to make the file smaller so it can fit on the disc. Any help would be appreciated.

DVD Shrink will do the job for ya.
