Drinks for a struggling stomach

Vodka and Coke used to be my staple drinking diet after my teenage cider years were made history. However recently ive had a bit of gastritis and although it has cleared up (i can eat pretty much what i want now) my stomach is still disliking a lot of alcoholic beverages.
Vodka and Coke is now out the window although im pretty sure my stomach is rejecting the gassy coke more than the vodka.
I cant stand beers, wines or even my old pal cider anymore. So i was considering a mixer with vodka or another spirit that will go easy on my stomach if taken in moderate amounts.
Two suggestions that have been made to me are whiskey with white lemonade and vodka with cranberry juice. Whiskey strikes me as a bit heavy for the stomach and cranberry juice might be a bit acidic.
Do you recommend either of these two drinks as the main drink for a night out? Or is there something better out there? Cheers!

Jaegermeister & lime. Not gassy, and lovely!

I would imagine that any alcohol will aggravate your dodgy intestines. Perhaps the best you can do is ensure that you never drink on an empty stomach and try to refrain from drinking to excess.

While recently on a particularly crazy lads' holiday, i began to fool my stomach into drinking by drinking vodka and orange juice. OJ masked the taste of vodka, so i didn't have any 'taste and shiver' moments, and wasn't gassy (obviously!).

Not sure how your stomach will cope, but i didn't feel sick (which i did with beer) and even the next morning was able to get up for a full day of snowboarding!! :D good luck!!!

Catch 22, if you are drinking with the aim of getting X-mg of blood in your system (i.e. getting to a certain level of tipsiness) then eating before hand will mean you have to drink far more. If you are drinking on an empty stomach it passes through very quickly, leading to you getting to a much higher blood alcohol level on less drink. So infact drinking on an empty stomach might just be what they need. If you take antacids it will help but they become physically "addictive"/neccessary. Drinking diet mixers also speeds up absorption meaning you have to drink less.

I'd try the Guinness. I <3 Guinness. I've a good stomach generally but cider kills me so continue to stay away from that!

Soda Water and a minute dash of lime is a good cure for stomach ache. If you add a dash of vodka it makes it a drink for a dodgy stomach. Never drink on an empty stomach either.

Cheers for some of your tips. I'll try some of those options mentioned. (Not on the same night mind!)
I don't go out solely to get drunk but if it happens i accept it. So im not a mad drinker. But at the same time i've tried going out minus the booze thinking its the beginning of a non-alcohol person. Needless to say i didn't like it very much hence im looking for some drinks!
It will be a case of trial and error until the belly is happy to accept what i offer it. Vodka and orange juice i'll have a go at this weekend. Hopefully the citrus doesn't get me instead of the alcohol! Maybe a quick trial run in a drinks after work style fashion first.

Would definitely recommend blackcurrant as a mixer! Trust me, so easy on the stomach! Most likely with vodka but I'm sure other spirits would work too
