As the title suggests I'm thinkin of buying a few decent decks for personal use as well as for the soc next year. The Kems work out nearly twice the price and I was just wonderin are they worth it? I've only ever played with Copags before and was just gonna get them again but thought I'd get some expert opinion on here first.

Kems are a much better card... Its alot thicker but they tend to warp... Copaqs are very soft cards and you can put them in the washing machine. I prefare Kems to deal with.

Fournier the ones the Fitz and PPP use? Definitely them. Between Kem and Copag Kem every time, the back of copags are too light and they mark easily.

Yeah, I'm almost certain of it. I'm pretty sure they are same price as Kems also if you buy in bulk. I used to like Copags as a player because they're so big and bright and I'm blind. Once I started dealing with them I despised them because they mark easily and not nearly as smooth to shuffle and pitch as Fourniers.

BTW what's up with that sig?

I prefer Copags. Find them easier to shuffle and they are flat. All the KEMs I've had were curved and the shiny front of them sticks to your hands.

Haven't noticed them marking particularly more easily than KEMs but you can buy twice as many for the same price if they do get worn. And the bigger card numbers/letters is easy on the eye.

Here's the blurb from US Playing Card Co. (KEM manufacturers) about why KEM are tops

Is KEM® just a plastic card?
KEM® actually blends both paper and plastic, offering card attributes that are better than paper or plastic alone

    What is cellulose acetate?
Cellulose Acetate is a blend of paper and plastic which, although challenging to manufacture, produces a card that combines the performance of high-end paper with the durability of plastic

If cellulose acetate is so special, why don’t other card manufacturers use it?
The tradeoff for having the unique snap and feel of KEM is that cellulose acetate is extremely difficult to print and coat, and it is a raw material that is very expensive and difficult to source. Perfecting the printing and production process has literally been a 60 year process.

How does KEM® compare to other plastic cards?
KEM® is the only playing card that combines the durability and flexibility of plastic with the classic snap and feel of high-end paper.
Other plastic cards are typically made from PVC plastic. PVC is fine at resisting moisture, after all it is used to make drainage pipes, but it does not offer the snap, flexibility and feel of KEM® which combines paper and plastic.

How does KEM® compare to World Poker Tour® or Bicycle® Clear Plastic?
Both the WPT and Bicycle clear decks are made from PVC plastic. They also offer some of the durability features, because they are washable for example. However, they do not offer the superior feel that is unique to KEM® because of the cellulose acetate construction.

How does KEM® compare to competitive plastic cards?
Our expertise in printing and coating allows us to produce a card more likely to resists smudging and fading. We have anecdotal evidence from professional players, casinos, and other serious card players indicating that no other playing card offers the feel and durability of KEM®.

I collect Kem cards. They are the finest in the world. That is why I wouldn't let poker monkeys play with them.
For general use don't use Kem. But for special use you have to own a deck of Kem.

I look forward to all the KEM orders coming through - and don't forget to put "boards" into the offer code box to get 10% off all KEM & poker stuff. This is on top of the 6decks for price of 5 on all playing cards.
