Not sure where to put it finally plonked it here

I've got a premium account,I'm struggling to find clear concise information as to how much you're allowed to download and within what time frame. I can't download any info from it and it says 'last 5 days you have downloaded 21549 MB'

    anyone know?

as far as I know u got a certain limit per day, not per month.. and I remember thinking I would never hit the daily limit if I tried.

If you download 25 gigs in 5 days they freeze your downloads until midnight of the 5th day. After midnight it will say something like you've downloaded 17 gig in the last 5 days.

    It's crap,

For similar money you could get newsgroup access from Giganews and combine it with Newzbin

rapidshare is great it may or may not be as good as newsgroups(never used it) but combined with the right forum for links and rapget its great.......cant think of anything extra I would want as I see the advantage of not having an in built search engine

It was a simple statement/question. So keep your childish, moronic, badly spelt and pathetic remarks to yourself.

With a 3 mbit connection you can download about 25 GB in 24 hours or maybe even slightly less time

    What's so hard to imagine?

    Newsgroups rules :)

A rather silly question, as stated you can get around 25Gb in 1 day on a 3Mb connection.

What exactly can you not imagine about downloading that amount ?

I guess it would be hard to imagine if you only used crappy rapidshare or torrents with little seeds

Its actually more like 32Gb but that's beside the point.

I don't see why anyone would download 5/6 full DVD's in 5 days. What for? Apart of the obvious illegal reasons. And if we not talking about DVD's we're talking a ridiculously huge amount of music or pictures or whatever else. And surely your ISP would freak out aswell?

Probably not - but we're not talking about eircom dsl because they cap their packages. Normal overhead would be about 1 bit in 8 so you'll lose 4 in 32.

the other download sites mentioned in the thread, would they be well supported in this ahem cough cough sort of sites im winking as i type at

If you just reset your modem it'll renew your ip address and you can keep downloading. Not sure if this works with that premium crap, but why pay when you can just reset your modem?

This thread has more than run its course. Should have locked it ages ago.

Rapidshare costs €7 a month and allows you to download 5GB a day. Giganews costs $8 a month and allows you to download 2GB a day. Hardly better value.
