Does anyone know if an Irish mobile can be registered for remote record on a UK subscription?

Ooh, there's a good question! I'd be interested in knowing this too. Must do some research! :)

I wonder if it's determined by the number of digits entered. What I mean is, Irish mobiles all start with 08 and are 10 digits in length. UK mobile numbers all begin 07 and are 11 digits in length.

I noticed that when I set up remote record on my Irish subscription, I entered my Irish mobile number, 08xxxxxxxx, and it automatically saved it as +35385xxxxxxx. Now, did it do this because the viewing card is linked to an Irish subscription / callback number dialled is the Irish one (1800.. and not 0800..) OR - could it be that the box is programmed to save any 10 digit number starting with 08 as +3538, and any number of 11 digits in length starting with 07 as +447?

If the latter, we could be winning. I must try to save a dummy UK mobile number on my Sky+ box when I get home.. ;)

Is it possible to maybe enter the whole number including prefix yourself, like +353871234567?

I'll try that when I get home too ;)

Just tried this. I'm happy to report that it seems as though one can, in fact, register a UK mobile for remote record on an ROI subscription, and so I guess it's fair to assume vice versa would also be possible.

Sky Active is indeed looking for a 10 digit number starting with 08 (so it can later re-populate it to +3538..) or an 11 digit number starting with 07 (it will change this to +447..)..

Good news for those living in Ireland with a Sky+ box and UK subscription (or vice versa).. :)
