Do you see this happening often? I mean for money of course.

Do the companies crack down hard on the culprits and freeze their winnings etc?

    Just wondering... :D

Sometimes they check, I'm not sure if everyone gets checked or it's random. My account got locked once until i emailed a scan of my passport.

Online poker is full of players under 18. I've seen research in which over 5% of 15-17 years olds in the study admitted to having played online poker for real money. So yes it happens to a huge extent. That's not meant as an encouragement to you, just letting you know that it happens.

Usually most U-18's won't sign-up as themselves as they have no way of depositing money on the site. Their parents/ brothers/ sisters, etc. details and CC's, I'd have thought, are usually the way most finance the accounts.

I'd say most sites would not allow an account registered to an U-18 to deposit, but I stand to be corrected on that, as I never tried to set-up an account when I was U-18.

Date of Birth is usually a prerequisite on the registration form. The forms simply do not allow date of births to be selected that are under 18 years of age. This is why photo ID (passport) is required to match registration details amongst other checks.

But how have you deposited? Neteller, CC, AFAIK it's not possible to get either if you are U-18.

most sites do other checks first, where possible. If these pass, there is rarely a need to do further checks. Oh and you are old :D

About a quarter of our signups have been asked for passport id and verification of age which Mike and I assist them providing (photos of passports and credit cards etc).

It IS a problem but not a huge one, they cant get credit cards and its unlikely they will be able to get away with it for long to be honest.
In the end of the day, companies have to take reasonable precautions but after that it moves to the realm of deceit and fraud and thats a different issue.

    DeV.

I have had to, when I started making lots of withdrawals from Everest.

I had to submit one once before also but that was for an online bookie.

Ive never been asked for any form of age verification.

I always use my laser card to deposit.
Can you get them before your 18?

Do you have a 3v card? Do people get them cause of the fear of entering credit card details online? Maybe gift vouchers.

They seem a bit homosexual to me

won'tmetion the site but I know a winning player that is well under 18... he signed up online and deposits through one of the major bookmakers at the counter and his mother (acccount in her name) makes the withdrawls for him...

Not encouraging it but it does happen for sure
