    hi guys
just wondeing if theres a feature in itunes to delete duplicats files.
I want to keep my my music in mp3 format, but i dont like the wyay everything in itunes is duplicated.
is there a way of getting itunes to automatically delete duplicate files.
i have been using itunes for about 2 months now, so i have quite a bit of duplication going on.
is there a way of appllying this to the current duplocate files, as well as making it aply to future music files, being played on itunes.
This it the case with iphoto as well, i think, i hate the way iphoto embeds the files into sub-sub folders, makes teh pics so hard to find, can they not just appear in a folder rather than a sub - sub folder
    thanks
    ed

When you say everything is duplicated, do you mean that when you open an mp3 from anywhere on your computer, iTunes makes a copy in its own library? If so, you can easily stop it doing that. In preferences, click on "Advanced", click the "General" tab, then uncheck "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to Library".

From now on, when you open an mp3 file that's outside the iTunes library folder, it'll make a reference to it in the Library, but won't copy the file.
