I will probs try to get down in one of these 2....which would suit the show best ? I mean do they take a dim view of modified/custom cars regardless of age, or is an '86 SUPRA not classic enough for them ? or both :)

Hey CORKTINA, you should check out carrick on suir on your way up - there's a mark 3 estate in regular use there by the owner of the filling station. its the same colour as your own machine......

my estate is Sebring Red but I know what you mean. The car is off the road, possibly permanently but he still has it inside the workshop. It's a 1300L...quite rare and totally undesirable, plus its a bit rough. Nice guy, stopped off in my estate to phot them together.

Terenure college, On templeogue road look it up on google maps. With respect to parking, It tends to be in the pitches in the back. Turn down fortfield road and on your right there willl be a gate open onto the rugby pitches where you can park up. it's €10 or €15 admission then.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,733 ✭✭✭✭corktina

Hi ya Victor Meldrew....werent you on the gate last year moaning at all the people who wanted to leave early and telling them they couldnt turn left out the gate, they had to turn right even if they were strangers and hadnt a clue where that went.......not you? oh well...if I meet THAT Victor Meldrew this year, I'm gonna park on his head....

Nope :D I confine my VM persona for boards, IRL I'm very laid back. that said you'd need to be leaving the car park, I'm just waiting to see what gets stuck in mud this year....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭mustang68

I'm just waiting to see what gets stuck in mud this year....

I really hope that they have a tractor on site, we have a field of cars without limited slips diffs, traction control or whatever. I actually nearly got mine stuck in field with a hill at a wedding, thought I'd have to get pulled out, a good run up the hill did the job, and it was only light dew!!

As for the show, I can't wait, however last year one of my friends had to leave early and was told to "[not] bother coming back next year". I also paid in nearly twice the amount of money as a punter last year because I decided to bring my car!

Anyway, enough, the cars are great can't wait :D

same guy i think....there was hell to pay over it and they have modified there tone of wording in their literature this year. Was it muddy last year, thought it was quite good(you should try Innishannon...i dont go there anymore and never will again....mud at least a foot deep and they were towing cars IN....

I have been told they may have a Veyron on display. Seemingly revenue are demanding the vrt in advance on this purchase.

I should be there (no classic yet :() will take plenty of pics. Whats the entrance fee for a joe soap with no car?

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators Posts: 2,957 Mod ✭✭✭✭macplaxton

    12 yoyos for an adult.

Why don't you get up early and hang around down the road and see if anyone exhibiting will give you a lift? :) (They are charged per car, not per person)

    Details at Irish Jag Club

^ Agreed. I'm in the process of uploading pictures. I throw them up here ASAP.

I was there, lots of pics here.

Good show, great variety of cars as usual. I thought it was bad the way loads just up and left from about 3:30 on though, I know the commitment is until 4pm, but why advertise it as 11am-6pm when that's clearly not the case?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,733 ✭✭✭✭corktina

you cant blame people for wanting to get on the road home when the weathers bad.

.i travelled 170 miles to the show at 25 mpg thats quite a commitment and one reason why I dont like having to pay to get into shows EVEN when they are charity do's...(although I stayed til 5pm...unusually late for me and a marker of what a good show it was.)

And sprinted home at quite a speed :p (I was behind you for a stretch leaving Dublin and up the N/M7 along with the very green Fiat)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,096 ✭✭✭--amadeus--

Hmmm, must get mine checked then because it was bobbing a bit higher than that ;)

I was in the Jag - if I had been in the Holy 'Graile I wouldn't have been behind anyone for long...!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,733 ✭✭✭✭corktina

the Integrale was behind us coming out with a Porker and a Lambo in front.....nice company...

never saw any of them for dust when we hit the main drag.....
