    Hi Guys

I have my Q6600 in my hand fitting it today , but have hit a problem I didn't expect to encounter.

My PSU has a 4 pin connector for the processor power, which was fine for my old motherboard.

My new Abit FP-IN9 Sli Fatal1ty Motherboard has a thing called ATX12V1 which is an 8 pin power connector....

Can I get some sort of adaptor or do I need to buy a new PSU ?

New Bits For Main Rig Build are

    Core2Duo Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz 8MB Cache
    2GB Geil 800Mhz PC6400 DDR II RAM
    Abit FP-IN9 Sli Fatal1ty Motherboard
250GB Maxtor 7200rpm SATA II HDD
XP Pro ( no I don't want Vista thanks )

Going into my Coolermaster Mystique Case 632 with my existing bits

    520Watt OCZ Mod PSU
    nVidia 8800GTS 320MB
    Creative X-Fi XtremeAudio Soundcard
    Akasa Blue CPU Cooler
Lots of blue fans and UV lighting

    OK that worked !!!

Now I have a different issue.

I'm following the instructions about for building a driver disk under DOS, for the SATA hdd.

It requires me to make a bootable FDD, which I do, and using DOS confirm that yes indeed the files were copied to the disk,

But when I restart the system says "not a bootable disk"

Motherboard is Abit Fatal1ty IN9 SLI

    Any tips ?

You don't boot from the floppy normally.
During Windows installation, it'll ask you to press F6 to install additional SCSI or other drivers. Press F6 and insert the floppy.

All sorted thanks for the advice,

I just booted with the windows installation disk in the dvd drive and it sorted the sata drivers for me.

System is still in bits so sorting it out and making it all pretty today...
