    Hello all,
I am just wondering if its possible to receive Greek channels over here in Ireland? (Primarily: Ant1, Mega, Star channels). If its possible is it a big job? What equipment is needed and a rough price for this?
    Thanks,
    Owen

Thanks for the reply Pal, would it be a big job to get it? and also would a nova card be a subscription or a once off payment?
    Regards,
    Owen

There are several free to air channels that might or might not be of interest(ERT, Ch10, music, sports) on Hellasat very close to Turksat that you should be able to pick up with most FTA systems.
Coincidentally I was able to pick up most of the free channels on the F1 beam easily with a 35cm dish in light rain last night in Dublin. Some of them started breaking up as the rain got heavy. Now I wouldnt recommend you try to pick up Hellasat on a 35cm dish but I doubt the signal in Kilkenny is significantly less than Dublin, so with a decent larger dish you should be able to get adequate reception.
Because of the small dish and proximity of Turksat I did get encroachment from strong Turksat channels, this should be less of a problem on a well alligned larger dish.
Also coincidentally caught Ray Houghton at number 11 on a best of goals program on a sports channel, cant remember Hellas or Turksat but still brings a tear.

Hellasat 39E mostly OK on 80cm, the free channels anyway.

Indeed not a problem on a real dish rather than the camping frying pan from Lidl.

Free to Air ERT SAT and Cyprus Sat.

    Hotbird 13 Degrees East,12265 V 27500.3/4
May also be worthwhile adding a "Little Extra "bracket and a second Lnb for Astra 19 degrees.
