Ok so...... I downloaded photoshop and when i opend the file it began to play in windows media player, then it shut my whole pc into a blue screen saying that i could go into f10 and so a system scan to determine the problem....

    *flush*
No that doesnt happen, it goes to do it, stops and says theres an error.

Now everytime i turn on the pc i get " Smatrt systems have dectced a problem. There is Enivitable failure on Hardrive disc 2*insert number thingy here*.... please back up your data and uninstall the hardrive" or something like that.

anyone any clues how i can fix it?

    Howdy
Inevitable disk failure would mean that your hard drive may be faulty and is going to fail......Is your hard drive making knocking or scraping noises when you switch the laptop on?????

OK , If this is what I think it is your only option is to reformat the whole disk and re-install the OS , your going to need a clean copy of windows on a disk , your recovery partition is gone !!

How do I know this ? Ive had to fix it a couple of times , that " downloaded " copy of Photoshop is a baited program and contains code that either messes up the hard drive data or starts to partition it randomly. Its not just hooky copies of photoshop , its other stuff as well , like office , 3d studio , etc.

    Its a common enough thing.

If it wasnt a hooky copy of PS then apologies , but seeing as the file opened in media player and then you saw the problems , well they are the symptoms and its unlikely it caused any mechanical damage to your hard drive , its just messed up the data. Believe me though, there is no fix , other than a completely clean install.
