I didn't know the lad but when I heard about the tragedy as I was genuinely upset to think a young lad with so much ahead of him in life could have his life taken in such a horrific manner. I think when you hear of someone dying like this from the same college as you it hits it home even further as they were just like you drinking in the student bar, studying in the library etc.

God bless Rory and his family and friends

That is very sad to read. What a needless waste of a young man's life.

I know of a family whose son was killed on the road as he came home from collecting his results, however the driver was quickly caught and was sentenced. The pain of it still affects them all to this day.

My condolences to Rory's family and friends. As a member of the alumni of the High School I have personal and academic connections to the school he attended, although I did not know him.

Find it very hard to believe he was on his own when it happened.

    Such a waste.

He was, CCTV footage shows this. He lost his grip and fell and died upon impact. His funeral today was very sad and moving, there were people out the door which just proves what a great guy Rory was. Rest in peace man.
