Im looking for glasses online specifically from this lot http://www.goggles4u.com These seem to be the cheapest. Anyone have any experiences buying glasses online?

    Hi
I purchased designer prescription sunglasses from this site.
They have a good selection including sports glasses.
The optition who supplied my prescription was contacted and a mistake in his prescription was discovered.
    www.spex4less.com
    Brilliant. Very quick turn around.
    Regards
    Carol

Hi, I was too lazy to look for and add to a post I wrote ages ago enquiring about buying glasses online. Anyhow, I got around to it last week and they arrived today. I ordered from www.selectspecs.co.uk and it worked out fine. In all, it cost me Euro45 for 1 pair of titanium rimless frames including lenses (except I made a mistake and input the order twice so now I have two of the same pairs). I don't mind as I really like them and I can't usually find a pair that actually suit. Worth a try and I would recommend as I am anti-Specsavers due to quality of opticians (totally got my prescription wrong one time, normally, I am -2.00, they gave me a new prescription and glasses at -4.00!!!), quality of glasses and general service.

I find specsavers(gpo arcade,Dundrum and Dun Laoghaire) excellent.

Specsavers had no frames I wanted so had a look around in any opticians that I could find and anything nice was horrificly expensive >250
    I found -
    http://www.vision2you.co.uk

Their high index lenes are 90 pounds for 1.67 and 135 pounds for 1.74 and the frames are 95 pounds:)

Went with goggles4u.com after, got a pair of the bendable glasses, only cost me €19! couldnt be happier with them. They took a few weeks but they came from pakistan. Would highly recommend them.

I've gotten three pairs from them over the last few months, a photochromatic rimless pair for €40, rimless sunglasses for €15, and ordinary (medium thickness) rimless for €20. One screw on the ordinary rimless pair is slightly loose, but its not significant. Mine came from Packistan too, took about 2 weeks for delivery.

You can also get additional discounts (5%) I think if you enter this promotional code when ordering, 4578A. I should say though that I get a commission whenever this code is used, but I wouldn't post this unless I thought that these were excellent value. They have a repeat customer discount too (another 5% I think).

Obviously you will need your prescription to order, that usually amounts to just entering three numbers on the online form. You usually shouldn't use a prescription thats more than two years old.

Just an add-on question to this if ye don't mind.

Can I just go into any optitican and ask for a eye exam and a presciption ?
What is the cost of this - have my glass' 2 years now and need 2 new pairs.

    Thx
    K

Yes, any optician should be able to give you an eye test. As far as I know if they give you the test then they are legally obliged to give you your prescription - in my experience they are always quite willing to give you the prescription anyway

Hello , just noticed your comments. A bit dated now but having bought glasses on line from all over the place over the last few years , I have just come across an Irish crowd www.eyelids.ie who are quite good and they are in €euro which is easier.
