All the songs sounded the same, but i'll give them another listen, cause they deserve it!

Bland record. Why would anyone waste their time with such a lazy band?

De Stijl and White Blood Cells are great records
but Elephant was just repeating themselves and ...Satan was a bit aimless.

I'll still check out the new one though.

I have to disagree to be honest, ive been listening to it over the last few weeks, and i really like it. (may i add here that im not a white stripes fan in general)

megs pointless and awful drumming aside, theres some really good tunes in there, conquest, icky thump, bone broke and rag and bone are all great.
each one showcasing the fact that jack has decided to go out and have a bit of fun, and definetly leaves the repetitive boredom of the last couple of albums behind.

The heaviest, and most interesting album theyve done for a long time.
    I like it
    out of ten you say?
    7.5 i reply

I have to say that I'm a big fan of Meg White. Watch the band live and it takes a certain amount of skill to play along with Jack's often improve performances. Her style may be simple....but it suits their sound.

Live maybe, and i dont have a problem with keeping it simple on albums either, but theres simple and theres simple, Meg's drumming reminds me of a 3 year old with a couple of pots and a wooden spoon at times.

I have listened to this a couple of times, and apart from one or two tracks I don't like it, I don't find it interesting really and I have to say that I agree with others that the drumming becomes ridiculously lazy at times, maybe that’s intentional but it seems to be extremely repetitive and tacky (for want of a better word) almost at times. I am really disappointed though, as apart from 'Get Behind Me Satan', I enjoyed and still enjoy the other albums. Shame really.
Maybe it will grow on me after a few more listens, but I wont be holding my breath.

    I really liked this actually.

There are some songs on it that are as good as if not better than anything they've done in the past, like Little Cream Soda.

There's some fierce shiite too, but as a sort of follower of them, I'm not disappointed.

I liked it. Effect and Cause, Rag and bone and Icky Thump are great songs.
I also like the fact they went back to the ballsy guitar based sound after the experimentalism of Satan. My favourite album is still Elephant though.

I quite liked the album too.. though I only listened to it twice so far.. now I have to wait for the album to arrive. I saw it on CDWOW for 12euro.. and bought it.. little did I know that I'd have to wait until the 13th of July for them to dispatch it. I ordered on the 22nd of June.. :|

white stripes? people still aren't embarrassed about liking them?
i mean, first few albums, yeah, but everything post WBC is laughably bad.
    icky thump is, unsurprisingly, horrible.
