Re-raise vs. Button raise

Table is folded to me on the button, late stages of a tournament. I have a late position raising hand like AJo. Now I raise with a legitimate hand. I’d prefer to win the blinds, but If I one caller that’s not bad at all, my opponent might call with a weak ace or a hand like KJ, QJ, or 10J, or a medium pair. An aggressive opponent can get himself into lots of trouble if I hit the flop and they actually think I’m stealing with trash.

However the problem is when one of the blinds incorrectly thinks you are stealing, and decides to be tricky and stick in a big reraise. At this point any hands that raised would normally raise only in late position are faced with a dilemma. Does he think he’s on a resteal, or does he actually have a strong hand? Making the wrong decision could cost you all you’re chips.

If my opponent is capable of such a move, and I have A10+ or 99+ , I’m usually very tempted to call. Its important to show the table you won’t be pushed around. However its hit and miss because you’ll often find yourself dominated or else just in a 50/50 race, which are situations to be avoided. Having suited cards doesn’t really effect my decision heads up, avoiding a race or domination is more important.

If you have seen you’re opponent try a re-steal from the BB or SB before, which of the following hands would you lay down? Assume you are all-in after you call.

    AQ
    AJ
    A10
    Ax
    KQ
    KJ
    Medium Pairs

Depends on what he's restolen with. But I would call with big aces and medium pairs for sure. Also though more info needs to be given and each situation is different.
