Where are the fishies?

Since Mansion doesn't have shorthanded tables I spent the last month playing full ring at $1-$2 with much success, (ignoring the previous month's debacle). However, despite getting 36% RB the site is not very active during the hours I play and I despise the software so I left.

I went to full tilt where I thought I could get RB on my existing account but it turns out your existing account can't be a real money account already. Well duhhhh!

Anyway I decided to stick with full ring and I get the impression these are some of the fishiest tables I've played on in quite a while, despite the fact that FT seems to have a rep for being a bit tight. Why I have no idea.

The question I'm asking is this. Could it be that full ring is now more profitable to play on because many fish are too scared to play short handed and all the better players prefer 6 max tables?

I think you may be right, the small amount of full ring I've played lately seemed to have a lot more bad players. A lot more boring though too.

When you ask where the fishies are, I haven't seen it mentioned on boards much but PKR.com has the worst standard of players by far.
Must be to do with it looking like a console game, but multitabling is near impossible so I left, anyone that plays 1 or 2 tables will be laughing.

Is anyone still playing on Culchies Site? Vegas Baby? I rememember everyone saying it was well fishy, Canadian right?

I like your reasoning on full ringed games being a bit softer. What levels are you playing on FT?

Just $1-$2. Huge table selection at all hours whihc is great. I can see myseolf staying there for a while even without a bonus or RB.

Nicky the RB on full tilt is too much not to be bothered with it. Take steps to getting yourself a new account - set it up from an internet cafe or something.

I went down every avenue to try and get this sorted noel but they have some series ways of spotting duplicate accounts. Worth trying though i guess

I have a friend *cough* that used his mothers name to create a new alias with which he played from. Quite handy for setting up a lot of new accounts.

    Worked with FullTilt

The Action Poker Network which Vegas Baby was on was the softest I've ever experienced, though the player liquidity above 1/2 was a problem and why I stopped. I think some of the network partners such as Nine.com have since left and it's too small.

Yes they were overwhelmingly Canadian players, and the lesson I learnt was that if you could be bothered to find the worst players around then you should go to localised sites not feeding into large networks. Obviously you have to contend with the player liquidity issue and that depends on your stakes, but if you wanted to find the biggest fish at around 1/2 you can find worse players than on the popular sites / networks.

Also the world has not experienced the poker boom equally, thus countries like Germany are getting into it more around now and so their players are worse than most established countries' players. Off hand I can't think of any sites on a small network with predominantly German players, but there may be .

Might have to go and give culchie's site a try!

Last time I played on the Boss network (poker heaven I think) there seemed to be a lot of ze Germans playing. Only time I ever noticed there presence.

    Sorry,to clarify

i thought mansion was mind numbing because of the lack of action!

PKR is very soft but thats the one i found too frustrating!

FTP is fine, definatly the best of those 3 imo!!

(u also get to watch gus hanson stumble around an omaha cash game in the background if u want on full tilt!) that is quality!!! like a game of blind mans bluff!
    ;)

Are u getting rakeback on FTP??

if not y not just play stars?? or have u considered any of the crypto sites?? or mermaid poker??

I've played a bit at mansion, party, pkr, stars and ftp.

Mansion has a great rb deal, but doesnt have resizable tables and has a real lack of traffic/games.

Pkr is good and fishy, but can be v slow and i found it v frustrating multitabling.

I managed to get RB on pkr by contacting their affiliates dept after i had signed up, and they agreed to link my a/c with a RB affiliate. I dont know if ftp would be so kind though.

I've found party the best for making money so far, and it's great for multitabling. I love the auto-landscape feature. I've found stars and ftp a bit tougher, but they also have resizable tables which I think is a must.

German and Austrian players tend to play on Stars and Party from what I am seeing. Betandwin might be the best 'other' option. I think it's a crypto skin but i'm not sure. Being Germans though they mostly tend to be tight boring players and they also seem to read quite a bit which means they're not quite a fishy as they could/should be. Not to generalise of course :D

My experience of German poker players is quite new. I started mucking around on Ipoker for the 1st time recently and there's loads there and they are all poor and weak. It's hard to say whether they are worse than the French, the French are bad in a shove it all in with 6To kind of way, the Germans are more passively bad. Give the Germans 2 years and they'll be crushing us though :)

    fish :)
Less of it you. You'd be better off concentrating on cleaning out those fishies in Caesars although how you won money the other night is anyones guess!

I'm having a problem readjusting to European time, I should have just stayed in Vegas :(
