Right well festival season is here & i am heading to an unmentionable festival which will be the first festival that i will camp at. I've been at them before but only on day tickets so i am seeking the advice of ye seasoned professionals out there.

Should i bring wellies etc or is this just an urban myth what are the do's & do not’s of festivals???

Theres already a checklist around here somewhere but after last weeks Glastonbury Ill just add that wellies are a neccesity if the weather is likely to be wet. Also GOOD waterproofs are essential. Rain jackets didnt seem to cut it for our people who had them. Also ponchos didnt cover all the legs which resulted in wet jeans. Get the sort of stuff cyclists use. Also a hat with a big brim (usually can be bought at festivals) like a sombrero or an asian farmers hat (these are the best) to keep rain / sun off your face is a good idea.

Well, after having all my stuff flooded at Glastonbury, I'll have to add to the, a decent tent.
£8 from argos, may seem good value at the time, but it's not worth it.

Millets on Mary st have excellent tent deals all summer season. You can pick up two men tents for 30 quid and they are all perfectly waterproof. Theres nothing to be gained from going elsewhere other than a soggy sleeping bag.

3/4 length shorts and wellies work a treat

a rug with a rubber underside - perfect for sitting on the ground if its damp (and there's room!!)

You don't really need bog roll either, but it makes things much more comfortable. Alot like wellies in that regard.
