Wondering about this situation in a tournament. Theres 120 left and 30 get paid. Average stack is around 7k. No real reads on villian as such. Hasn't been re-raising pre-flop so I suppose he has AK/AA/KK/QQ.
This is probably super standard - but i'm not sure if its standard to fold or to play it like i did or call and see a turn or to come right out and bet into him. Don't think I can fold pre-flop really..?
Or in general how would people play pocket 9s under the gun in a tourney at this kind of midway stage

Yep, I would pus here aswell, you have picked up 8 extra outs, when you called with 99 this would have been one of those flops you wished for (besides of course a 9 on the flop)

I would push here every time.

This type of a re-raise always stinks of AA or KK sometimes AK. Its hard to fold 99 to the raise however but it may be the best thing to do here.

How does a 3-bet in position from the chip leader mean AA/KK?

Well yeah he calls with AA. Figured out afterwards that even if he never folds it is a +EV push as im roughly a 3/2 dog so I win around 400 if I'm called five times out of five. Add in that I might fold out JJ or more importantly TT and its about the only thing to do in that situation i guess. Hate check-raising all in though when you're fairly sure you have the worst hand and will be called
