Can anyone recommend a good restaurant in Carrick on Shannon (or nearby) I will be visiting the area next week and am looking for a place to go for an evening meal with my girlfriend.

    Many thanks.

Thanks for the feedback..looks nice, but only serves evenings from Thursday-Saturday! Not convenient for me unfortunately (will be in the area Tuesday/Wednesday)

    Anywhere else?

I am not sure how far outside carrick you are willing to travel but there are two award winning restuarants further up just off the N4. (God it could be another 20/30 miles?) Check out Castlebaldwin, Sligo it may be too far but if it’s a special occasion. theres a map in eh Cromleach lodge site I think.

You would have to book in advance which could be the downer.

Otherwise, if you just want something casual you might try Cryans pub in Carrick. I am afraid I haven’t been but the restaurant that spills over to the pub is always jammed. That must say something! Its a trad pub so if that’s your kind of thing... Sometimes there are great sessions on there. Ye might be lucky.
Think you need someone from South Leitrim to step in to help.
