What CPU for abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD?

    Hi,

    Going with the above mobo. Can someone recommend a good dual core AMD cpu for this? Or intel if the price is right...

    Well, its an Intel board so you have to run an Intel chip. That said the current lineup of Intel chips are excellent value.

    With that board, if you plan overclocking, and you should with that board! You could try an E2140. Even stock its up to the job. However if you envisage a lot of video post-precessing and transcoding and dont plan overclocking, then get the quickest chip you can afford.

    My choice, E2140 overclocked.

    thanks. looks like a good chip. Are you sure its an intel board? its made by abit and I was under the impression that AMD chips will work with it?

    Its an intel board alright. I was wondering are you primary setting it up for a htpc. If you are, you should check out the below.

    Asus M2A-VM HDMI, AMD 690G+SB600, HDMI, Socket-AM2,
    m-ATX, DDR2, Firewire,PCI-Ex16

    70 euro from Komplett.ie

    Should be able to avail of a cheaper amd processor aswell.
