    Hi,

I have just sold a multi effects guitar unit to a guy who doesnt live a huge distance away from here. I want to drive to him with it instead of posting it and having to worry about whether it arrives in the same condition (or arrives at all).

Am I allowed to ask the guy where he lives, throw it in the back of the car and deliver it to him myself. I have mailed the guy and asked him if this is okay but he hasnt responded - I wondering is this because I have suggested something illegal (under ebay rules).

I mean I thought it would be more convenient for him to have me call down with it as a) he gets it quicker b) he doesnt have to have someone at home to take the thing from the postman (or have to go to the PO later) and c) doesnt have to worry about insurance or the thing getting broken in transit.

    appreciate your advice.

    J

Not against the rules to deliver, many will only offer collection or delivery. He will probably accept. The only issue might be if he has already paid postage fees. Though post includes post & packing so you are having to go to the trouble to deliver yourself, petrol etc. Any reasonable person would accept it, I would prefer it myself.

Okay, just mailed him through ebay to say that I'm prepared to drop it down to him. I just want to get the transaction over with. The thing could on forever if I put it in the post, + could end up anywhere.

    Thanks for the advice.

Yep if you are going to delivery it in person you should ask for cash on delivery, that would be the easiest way of doing things.

and by dealing in cash you do not get stung for paypal fees. Might be too late now though, I imagine most tend to pay straight away.
