System Prefs settings MISSING

    Hey All!

This is an odd one that I have never come across and can't find any refs to this anywhere. I'm setting up a server to run Apache, which I've done before and no issues there but when I tried to start the service I couldnt because the machine was using port 80 for Personal Web Sharing. So the solution to this is turn it off. Off I go to System Prefs/Sharing expecting to find the same setup as I do on every other Mac I have ever worked on but.. NO. I get the following - see att. screen shot.

There is no File Sharing option there. Now I have come across the Start/Stop button being disabled and things like that before, but the option has ALWAYS been there. Actually, as you can see from the screenshot, I'm missing a hell of a load of service options.

Any see this before? I have tried stopping the service from the terminal but no joy there either. Any thoughts?

    Cheers

Reinstall the server's system :-o I'd be shot!!

Seems the person who set it up first day configured sys prefs to remove this option. I didnt think you could do that, even on xserve. Anyway, you can!! The work around seems to be to go through Server Admin Util, gonna try that now.

<snip> Just realised, that's not going to do anything.

Forced Apache to start using Server Admin. Done and done.

    Still odd though!
