Hi .. im thinking of replacing sky. Basically the idea is to cancel my subscription and have a new system installed. New box, new remote, dish etc. I have a few questions:

The subscription is in my name. Can I cancel and have my dad sign up for it? Or will they take note that there was already a subsription to the service at this address? Or will the fact its in his name and account make a difference?

Do they install a new dish in place of the one there already? Is the original equipment mine to take and put in the attic/cupboard?

    Any reposnses/help appreciated
    Thanks

    Gary

I'm thinking of cancelling myself and re-applying in the missus name to get a sky+ box. Has anyone ever done this? Its sad that new customers get cheaper deals than customers who have subscribed for years. Your original equipment is yours to keep after 12 months.

Thats what irks me. 2/3 months half price for new customers. Ive been with them 5 years now and get nothing from them except bad signal issues.

    Hi Lads,
Already checked this out,its a no no as according to sky the surname would be the same, also the telephone number, but more importantly you must be cancelled for a year.
Its a real annoyance as my local sky dealer can put sky + in for €69 inc.installation with a refurbished box which is current model.

    regards

The free gear new subscribers will be provided if they are just that. If you order again, your name, address and phone number will be compared to what they have already and you won't be eligible. So, unless you moved from 5a to 5b [there are threads where people have "moved" to qualify, if you know what I mean :D]and got a different number, I can't see you getting the free standard installation or equipment.
