€100 FO Ballinasloe, don't know much about villian (chip leader 11,000) but he seems a good player. 25 runners blinds are 150/300 ave stack 8000 I'm BB with 5,400 and dealt 6,6 Villian MP raises to 1200. I call(?) flop come 10,5,5, rainbow I check(?) he bets 2,500, options.

You are behind far too often here with 66 to justify tanking it, unless you think he will fold without JJ+, even then there is a good chance he has JJ+ or even AT/KT. Even if he has AK he is still getting around 2.5/1 with 2 cards to come, so he is comitted anyhow pretty much. I would fold preflop as well out of position in a heads up pot rather than call >20% of your stack off with it.

Well you just called 1/5 of you’re stack with a mediocre hand, which is questionable. I would lay down a pair less than 99 to a big raise unless there were at least 2 people in the pot. Heads up you are not guaranteed to get paid if you hit a set.

Most of the time with a medium/small pair you will be faced with this sort of difficult situation, i.e. a big bet on the flop.

If you have seen this player make frequent preflop raises with unpaired high cards, you could move all in now. This is a good flop for 66. But you should avoid playing these hands in a raised pot heads up. You could lose you’re entire stack to an overpair if you mistakenly assume he is on unpaired high cards.
