Linkage here. It looks to have been agrees in principle with the deal taking full effect once Sinatra gains a 75% share. Let the mayhem begin......

With Allardice gone to Newcastle, it looks like Man City are trying to take their place as the league's comedy club.

great track record as a club manager, but i ant believe he got another job in England. After the WC he was essentiallt a punchline in england, they even had Ian wright hos an episode of the Friday night Project where almost everything he said for the whole night ripped into Sven.

I could be fun and he could just be the man a club like City need. Risk aversive.

    Mike.

Wright is a bitter bitter man who made a point of antagonising everything Eriksonn did at the last W.C just because he (rightly) left his son out of the squad

thats true but he was given the host job because they knew he would rip into Sven, which itself would go down very well. Man city fans are looking on the bright side and pointing out like me his great past club record but they have no other choice at this stage Sven is the manager pending the 75% despite that most of them dont like Sven.

despite that most of them dont like Sven.
Poll on manchester evening news's site says that 85% of fans want to see him manage City - http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester_city/

He's a good manager I think, he's just more suited to club football than international.

You tend to forget his good record at club level because it's overshadowed by his stint with England.

Man City are gonna be one unpredictable team.

It's not like he actually did badly with England. That's one thankless job (unless you consider millions of pounds a year as thanks). I'd be reasonably optimistic as a Man City fan.

I can see him doing a pretty decent job there, wonder how much money he'll have though. Would be nice to see a few more teams step up to the level where on their day they can trouble any of the big 4.

With Spurs, Everton, Pompey, Bolton and hopefully now Newcastle, Villa and West Ham all looking dangerous it'll make for a much more open league with more slip ups from everyone. Reading and Blackburn too have the players to threaten and Sunderland are bound to cause a few upsets, though i could maybe see Bolton drop down a bit post Sam..

This has all the makings of a great season i think!..wow i've really strayed off topic there...

Sven is a very good manager. The English media led us to believe that the English team was on paper ''the most talented team'', when this was clearly not the case. I can see Man City finishing 8th next season, with SGE at the helm. His record at club football is great but so it is at international, 3 quarter finals, loosing to far superior teams on PENALTYS. Not bad, at all.

There's no question that England underperformed under Sven. Regardless of media hype, England had a huge array of talent available during his tenure, and he failed to utilize it effectively. Shoe-horning Lampard and Gerrard into central midfield aside, he showed very little tactical flair and seemed out of hid depth at the big tournaments.

Sven is a decent manager, did well with Goteborg in all fairness to him.
Benefica are one of the biggest clubs in Portugal so i would not over applaud him for the success there, granted he did well in Europe.

I think he really struggled in Italy , had little success when he first went there and only really did well with Lazio after spending a rediculous amount of money that probably did the club more damage in the long run.

I think he is only taking the City job because there will be money available to him, which is fair enough, i dont buy that he turned more lucrative jobs down abroad just so he could prove himself in England.

I think he did ok with England but some of his tactics and team selections were starnge at times, it seemed he never really imposed a style of play that gave confidence to both players and fans.

Looking forward to seeing what he will do at City, cant do much worse than last season....
