Need a passport for Italy?

    Hi, just wanted to check if anyone knew this.
    Im going to Italy next month but the morning before I fly out I have an interview at the US embassy regarding a visa and they want to hold onto my passport for a few days. Is it possible to fly to Italy with my Drivers license seeing as its within the E.U?

    You will need the passport to enter I'm afraid.

    Nope. You need your passport to enter any EU country except for the UK.

    Perhaps if you call the US embassy you can work something out with them?

    Ah the Visa is more important than the Italy Trip so I'll leave it be.
