Eirebear - no! You can't miss Patton! Cancel your plans! I'll be there fo' shizzle. Luckily it's end of August so I'll be back from Interrailing. 3 days after Battles too, awesome :D

tell me about it yvehh, ill be in the middle of moving to fecking glasgow.
Hopefully ill be already moved and i can catch a cheap flight, but i just doubt it.

I was just talking the other day to someone about how one of the good things about moving over there will mean i dont need to travel from Donegal to Dublin for gigs.....how ironic.

Doesnt really make up for a week of Slint/Battles/peeping Tom in Dublin, but it sure as hell makes me feel better :)

    Is this 21's or 18's?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 581 ✭✭✭Mongo

Probably 18's?I really hope so!Saw these guys at Coachella festival and out of 3 days of music they were the second best band I saw!

Anyone know who'll be there with him?
    Rahzel would be amazing!

yeah rahzel would be cool. I wouldn't get my hopes up though a girl called butterscotch has been filling in for him lately but apparently she's just as good.

Got tickets for myself and a friend. Really looking forward to this. Patton with Fennesz really wasn't my thing, so PT will be my first "real" Patton live experience. Excellent. I didn't think they were going to tour here, so thumbs up to U:Mack for again bringing some great bands to Ireland.

    She's gooooood!
I'm not a massive fan of beat boxers in general to be honest, mainly because i dont think its a style thats been refined enough as yet so you tend to get hit with a lot of amateur rubbish.
Slightly off topic but i seen this guy a couple of months back with a band called coco rosie, he was pretty awesome

Takes about a minute or so to build up but when he does its awesome

I think Sonic Youth are doing Daydream Nation in Glasgow around the same time. Check it out and go! go! go!

I booked tickets for this even though I wasn't hot on the CD. I imagine it works really well live though so I'm willing to give them a chance.

It will probably be Butterscotch, The Dub Trio and Dan The Automator aswell as that chick playing Violin and doin backing vocals and a Keyboard player

John you are a fecking legend mate!
Just checked it out and theyre playing 2 nights in ABC.
ones sold out....just hope the other one stays available till the weekend....

Back on topic, Dan the Automater will be cool as hell, and as for the CD its not Pattons best work, but its certainly got some really catchy tunes on it, its a grower.

I wonder when the lineup will be confirmed I've been thinking they couldnt really do sucker or getaway without norah jones or kool keith i wonder does someone fill in or do they just avoid those songs. Off topic but does anyone know what the lineup is gonna be like for the boredoms in October?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 620 ✭✭✭yevveh

One of his band will fill in for the guests on the album. There's no way he could do an album and tour it if the band couldn't play the songs live.
