    Hey,

I dont know if this is in the right forum, if not please move.

But I am just wondering if anyone else has had trouble accessing their gmail account in the last couple of days? I cant access it whatsoever, its telling me my username and password dont match but I know for a fact they definately are correct. And with gmail it takes 5 days for a passwrod recovery/security question.

Any help would be appreciated. :(

I'm surprised that you are still relying on Gmail.

From the beginning it never worked for me.
Nor would I believe that it would - given that it was free and the scale of the resources needed to host millions wanting to send large attached files, at all times of the day too.

lol, wow this is a funny rant,
GMail works fine, if it doesn't work for you then its your browser/operating system,/internet connection.

Very rarely have had issues with gmail myself, maybe every few months it might run slow and load html instead of the normal dhtml but those times are few and far between

I've been using gmail for ages (over a year I think) and it's great. Seriously you should try it again.

Who is your provider? could be a secure site issue, do you use online banking or any other HTTPS:// site?

Ya I've used lots of HTTPS services, but if you reckon it has anything to do with the provider then the fact im on a wireless network in Phuket might be it. But I've been in gmail a few days ago on the same network, the only thing that has changed since then was updates for the laptop. Didnt think it would have any effect but I am hoping that is the problem. Have had that account for years and have everything in it!

If you can, and you think it's worth your while, get a liveCD of some description and see if you can connect to gmail from the same laptop on the same network, so you can confirm or rule out your updates hypothesis.

I find i have to refresh my browser sometimes after logging in, in order to see my inbox. Other than that I'm very happy with Gmail.

Gmail is fantastic I think, started using it over 2 years ago, got invite from some guy in college... Compared to the other email type stuff i use (hotmail & the webmail thing we have in college) it's way better... Easy to use, fast and all that...

Oh and as for the OP's question, no problems here, it's been working grand...

I had some problems today sending or saving mail as the servers were down :( It's fine now but anyone who says they have never had a problem with GMail is either lying, not online very much during the day or like a loyal Mac owner that insists their computer NEVER crashes. :)

I've been using GMail almost since it came out and I can say that in that time I've had plenty of minor inconveniences (Oops, the system...error message) and several major access problems where their entire mail network was down globally thanks to a problem with their server farms and high temperatures.

GMail is brilliant and I love using it but over the past year there have been far more short-phase outages than in any time previous. Hardly surprising given the sheer volume of users, the increased storage capacity and larger attachments allowed.

I've had no problems with it either, though today google's been thinking I'm in germany and my connection's been very unreliable but that's eircom's fault I'd imagine.

I noticed that it had https://etc earlier and now it's http://

I stuck in a s into the latter url and hit go and there was no problem. what does this mean? can you switch between http and https? does that mean that emails will be sent via a ssl connection? does it apply to gmail chat. or is it just a slight change in the url?
