Depends on the brand, but €75 for a designer name ski jacket would be pretty good.

I got a jacket in TK Maxx for €45 last year. Try to borrow as much of the equipment as possible. I would say they will have much more stock next winter. Might be worth waiting till then.

Possibly an obvious answer, but keep an eye on Lidl and Aldi as both will have stuff in at some stage.

I was in Millets in the square a couple of weeks ago and they had Columbia Skiing Trousers for €30, they were €100 or so in december / january. You could give them a ring and see if they still have any stock left.

I got my pants in TK MAXX, for €75 and a 3 in 1 Columbia jacket off Backcountry.com(USA), i got caught for tax so it ended up more expensive than I thought!

I wouldnt bother with googles, sunglasses are much easier and give a better field of vision than the goggles I got.

I got the thermal gear in dunnes, for about €10 a piece. 2 tops and 2 bottoms did me grand for the week. (I washed them!)

Oh, and get skiing gloves, I think theyre even more breathable than other waterproof gloves, my hands just got sweaty in the gloves I had.

If its snowing, or if it's a cloudy day, goggles are much better than sunglasses.

While you're looking for gear, make sure to get yourself skiing socks. I pretty sure that I spotted them before in TK Maxx. Well worth buying a few pairs. At the end of the day, how comfortable your feet are will be the difference between enjoying yourself and having an uncomfortable week.

There are also a few places around which rent ski pants and jackets for the week. (River Deep, and Stauntons Sports in Limerick use to do it.)

You could be right about the goggles, it didnt snow much at all when I was in Romania.
I got ski socks in The Great Ouddoors, off Grafton Street for a fiver a pair, well worth the money.

I bring both on holidays. If its snowing, you need goggles. If its sunny , sunglasses are much less cumbersome.
