Where can you buy sold out tickets?

I'm at wits end here; I’ve literally tried everything to get tickets for concert X.

Does anybody know where one can buy tickets for sold out events at non extortionate prices?

I've tried Sound Cellar and they have none left.

    On another note
Anybody else sick of the bull**** legal crap here?

Genuine face value sellers should be allowed to sell whatever they like in the tickets forum.

Leaving aside the touts that may have sold here in the past. There were a few ordinary Joe soaps that did me many a good deal on tickets I couldn't get anywhere else on adverts, and boards before adverts was around.

And at reasonable prices maybe throwing on a tenner or something on the for sale price to account for credit card/ booking fees.

Personally I think I’m not the only one that fees deprived of my ticket outlet (in adverts and boards) the first summer after this legal mumbo jumbo came up.

    Comments....

(I have read the charter and don't think it’s against the rules to talk about this as long as company names are not involved. So please avoid direct references)

And apologies if I’m in the wrong Mod’s but think an outlet to discuss this is required.
Feel like I’ve lost an arm in loosing the tickets forum.

needaticket.ie, you will pay a good bit over the odds though, or there's always ebay...

Don't have an ebay account and don't really fancy paying over the odds for the tickets unless i can inspect them to see if theyre ok first.

I have visions of paying like €300 and then getting two tickets printed on a piece of A4 paper.

I looked at needaticket.ie and theyre looking for way over the odds for what i'm looking for, but thanks again anyway

eBay, buyandsell are the best i find.

Checked buy and sell alright and rang the 2 sellers that had tickets advertised, but they had sold them already.

Guess i was just looking for somewhere i haven't tried yet hoping something i hadn't heard of coming up but guess I was hoping for too much.

Thanks for the help tho guys, much appreciated. Might have to go for the dreaded ebay, and overcome my fear.

    Cheers

If you go the ebay route make sure you have checked the sellers feedback before you bid on anything. If there's anything dodgy in it I wouldn't bid, especially with things like tickets. Most sellers are o.k but it's not harm e-mailing the seller beforehand to check with them and check what they are like about returns etc.
Thing is, if it is a sold out gig then you will more than likely have to pay over the odds regardless of where you go..

Ah, of course, i don't mind paying a bit over the odds, but the prices being charged are ridiculous.

I've tried Sound Cellar and they have none left.

Are you missing out on tickets because they sell out before you get a chance to pick one up, or because you're short of cash when they are on sale?

You can ask to put a deposit down on tickets in the Soundcellar before they go on sale, so if its not a cash issue you can always guarantee yourself a ticket that way...normally have a few weeks to pay off the remainder.

You used to get them at face value here since that was the rules. Many people are stuck with tickets who would not even consider charging over the odds, they hate touts so want to bypass them and sell to genuine people who want to go. If you ring ticketmaster they will tell you to advertise them and that it is perfectly OK to sell them on (for what you paid). So I also think you should be able to do it here. Since the forums are "live" here it is better than going through these other sites as middlemen, which causes delays. People used to sell on the day of the gig here before.

I have emailed that www.needaticket.ie and will see what happens, I have offered them at €25 below face value, the gig is this week though and not sold out- so I am not sure if they will be interested.

There are other sites to try.

i can pretty much guess the tikcet you want, good luck, there was more on sale last week on ticketmaster cos i ordered two. So check that site on a daily basis.

If it was just for a normal concert i'd say go to the bands forum/message board and advertise... normally the most reasonable sellers are fans.

I'll keep a note of this for future reference, thanks.

Just couldn't get them when they went on sale thats all.

Yea, I brought this up with one of the Adverts mods over the weekend about reinstating FS Tickets, but people simply weren't adhering to the MCD ban so it was forced to close. Hard to think that that will change now unfortunetly.

Though if FS Tickets were still around, you can be sure that the MCD ban that's in place here and boards.ie would still apply to Adverts, as in no ticket ads allowed for MCD-promoted concerts.

Bear in mind, they won't do every concert, if its a gig with huge demand (say U2 in a smallish venue such as the one on Dame Street) they'll probably say no. They sometimes stop taking deposits after a certain number as well, so get in early.

ya gumtree is pretty good-if the gig is in 2 wks my friend got one for 280 the other day-she placed an ad in the buy and sell stating that she wanted to buy one and has had to turn her phone off as she has gotten so many calls about it! only thing is it takes a few days to approve the ad online..

Ahh, even more tips, great! It looks like I'll be away when tix for a certain gig are going on sale; in any case I'd be much happier to give SoundCellar a deposit than trust the safety of some random 'net cafe when I'm away!

    Thanks again.
